A search for a missing 76 year old man came to a tragic end yesterday afternoon.
Comox RCMP along with Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue teams were looking for Wayne Jardine, last heard from on Monday evening.
It is possible that he had been missing since Sunday.
Wayne had contacted a family member to say that his vehicle had broken down near Cumberland Road and Royston Road in Courtenay.
Searchers found his vehicle near Cook Creek and Highway 19 yesterday afternoon and converged on the area.
A family member then confirmed on social media that he had later been found deceased.
