The Town of Comox has hired a new Director of Development Services.
Randy Houle starts work on October 1st, and the Town says he brings a wealth of experience in municipal planning and development, having managed several key departments throughout his career, including planning, building, bylaw enforcement, and economic development.
In a statement, the Town says Houle joins the leadership team with a commitment to fostering relationships, managing complex land use and subdivision applications, applying and overseeing several grant-funded projects related to active transportation and economic development strategies.
“We are thrilled to welcome Randy Houle to our team. He is joining the Town at an important time as we look to renew our Official Community Plan and address the housing challenges with the federal Housing Accelerator Funds that we received earlier this year,” said Jordan Wall, Chief Administrative Officer.
“We look forward to his contributions to our strategic goals and the valuable relationships he will build with our community partners.”
As the Director of Development Services, Houle will oversee key initiatives, including, the renewal of the Town’s Official Community Plan, the applications of new multi-unit housing complexes, and the day-to-day leadership of the planning and development and building inspection team.
