Police Seek Assistance Following Suspicious Incident In Union Bay

Comox Valley RCMP are looking for help after a frightening incident in Union Bay.

On Saturday night (Nov. 30) around 10:10 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious male attempting to climb onto the second-floor deck of a residence.

The homeowner was alerted by loud banging on the side of her house. When she stepped onto her deck, she encountered a male wearing what appeared to be a gas mask.

After encountering him briefly, the suspect attempted to climb up to the second-floor deck where she was standing. She went inside and called 911.

Frontline members, Police Dog Services and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section were deployed to the scene.

Despite extensive efforts, including area searches and forensic examination of the scene, the suspect was not located.

Police are asking residents on or around the 5500-block of 7th Street in Union Bay to review their surveillance systems, doorbell cameras, or dashcams for any unusual activity recorded around the time of the incident.
