The province and the union representing 33-thousand public workers are heading back to the bargaining table.
No timeline has been set for the return to contract negotiations as logistics are still being worked out.
The Public Service Agency (PSA) invited the BCGEU's Bargaining Committee back to the table late Monday night and the union says it has agreed.
In a statement, the BCGEU says it's a significant development that is the result of the pressure union members have applied, which includes the current job action and shows solidarity from BCGEU members and allies.
In order to maintain that pressure, the union's current job action will remain in effect until further notice.
The parties have agreed to a media blackout so no further comment will be made.
The most recent collective agreement between the union and the Public Service Agency (PSA) expired on April 1, 2022.
Negotiations for a new collective agreement started in February with bargaining reaching an impasse in April. Union members voted 95% in favour of job action on June 22.
The parties met again in July but talks quickly broke down.
