Rainfall warnings are in effect on much of the coastal sections of Vancouver Island, locally up from Nanoose Bay to Campbell River.
A frontal system will give rain at times heavy to the BC south coast Thursday and Thursday night.
Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 100 mm is expected before the rain eases on Friday.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible, so you’re advised to watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
