RCMP are investigating after a bear spray attack over the Fall Fair weekend in Port Alberni.
Police say approximately five percent of the calls during the Fair were related to attendees at the event.
Front line officers responded to assaults on the grounds including an incident Saturday night when multiple people were affected by bear spray.
Constable Richard Johns says although the initial conflict appears to be targeted, several bystanders were heavily affected by the discharge of the bear spray in the area.
Paramedics with BC Ambulance Service assisted with treating those affected.
Although not all intended victims have been located, several suspects have been identified.
Police are looking to speak with anyone with information, photos or video about this incident.
Although not all were directly related to the Fall Fair, over the same period, 19 people were held in custody over the weekend.
Some were released without charge, for a later court date with conditions to keep the peace or held for court.
