The long weekend may have thrown more than a few people off when it came to getting their garbage and recyclables to the curb this week.
Some Campbell River and Comox Valley residents were caught off guard this week, expecting a delay in pickup as, generally speaking, garbage collection gets pushed ahead one day when we have a statutory holiday.
But, because Canada Day fell on a Saturday, there’s been no change to the schedule this time around.
You can find your municipality’s pick-up schedule at Curbside Garbage Collection.
If you’d like to know more about what happens with your trash, limited seats are available for “behind the scenes” Comox Valley Waste Management Centre Landfill guided tours happening this Saturday.
Residents can pre-register for a bus tour to learn about where the waste goes and how they play a role in reducing waste in the community.
Attendees will see where waste goes and how it's managed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to protect the surrounding environment.
Residents can visit Comox Valley Waste Management Landfill Tour to register by tomorrow for the Saturday tour.
