Changes are coming to some BC Transit routes in Campbell River and the Comox Valley on Labour Day, ahead of the new school year.

In Campbell River, minor schedule adjustments are being made to some trips on Route 6 Oyster River/Willow Point to improve connections.

In the Comox Valley, school trips will return on the following routes:

  • Route 1 Comox Mall/Anfield Centre via N.I.C.
  • Route 2 Cumberland/Anfield Centre
  • Route 3 Comox Local
  • Route 4 Driftwood Mall/Comox Mall via Comox Road
  • Route 5 Vanier
  • Route 99 VMP Connector

Additional hours are being added to Route 10 during the week and on Saturdays to allow for better connections with the Regional District of Nanaimo’s Route 99 to Qualicum Beach.

As part of this expansion, hours are also being added to local handyDART service.

Weekday service has been extended, meaning handyDART service will now run from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

In a release, BC Transit says the service expansion in the Comox Valley Transit System has been made possible by an increase in local government and provincial funding.
