On Thursday, the Strathcona Regional District, in partnership with the Regional District of Mt. Waddington, Comox Valley Emergency Program, and United Way BC is hosting a roundtable session focused on grassroots hope and empowerment.
The virtual workshop will focus on enhancing extreme temperature resiliency in rural North Vancouver Island communities.
This winter, we have already experienced daily minimum temperature records set from the southern tip of Vancouver Island to the northeastern corner of the province, and many spots in between, with many cold weather records broken.
Those attending will learn about support provided by emergency program’s during extreme temperature events and how the United Way supports grassroots organizations.
The SRD says it’s also an opportunity for attendees to share projects they’re working on or are aware of in their community. For more info or to register, visit srd.ca.
