Members of the St. George’s United Church in Courtenay fundraising committee, named 1375 Thrive, are hosting a dessert feast and silent auction at the church on Saturday, May 28, at 6:30pm.

Funds will be used toward expenses for the 12 Habitat for Humanity townhomes being built at 1375 Piercy Avenue.

The evening features desserts, a presentation from Habitat for Humanity, an opportunity to meet new “neighbors” who will live in the new community, and a silent auction.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
