A Courtney distillery is doing what it can to help save the bees - and is encouraging other businesses to do the same.
Wayward Distilleries has partnered with several business in hosting a competition to benefit the local bee population.
"Bee Proud August" has local establishments adding new cocktails to their menus, using one of Wayward's BC honey spirits.
A dollar from each cocktail sold will go to support Pollinator Partnership Canada.
So far, Wayward Distillery has been abled to raise $12-thousand of its goal to raise $20-thousand dollars for the charity by the end of the year.
Pollinator Partnership Canada (P2C) is a registered charity dedicated to the protection and promotion of pollinators and their ecosystems through
conservation, education, and research. The Bee Proud campaign is running through the end of the month.
