The Town of Comox is inviting citizens and local businesses to share their insights regarding internet broadband services.
Feedback will help identify existing gaps and challenges and guide the development of a comprehensive community broadband strategy.
Given the increasing demand for telecommuting, virtual healthcare, and the various social and economic advantages of widespread connectivity, the
Town says a robust broadband strategy is crucial for fostering fiber-ready communities that can effectively tackle these needs.
Jordan Wall, Chief Administrative Officer of the Town of Comox, emphasized, "We are dedicated to shaping a 'digital future' for our community.
This survey will aid us in pinpointing the current broadband delivery challenges we face."
He added, "Accessible digital connectivity is imperative for the future prosperity of any community. We must ensure that digital opportunities are accessible across various sectors such as healthcare, the economy, education, public safety, support for vulnerable populations, and sustainability."
In tandem with the planned Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project, the Town of Comox is committed to significantly expanding broadband network capacity.
