The Town of Comox is hosting a pair of public engagement sessions, beginning Monday afternoon, to go over its first-ever Economic Development Strategy.
It’s focused on job creation, investment, downtown vitality, and workforce and resident attraction.
Residents and the business community are being asked to share their ideas about how
to boost the economy and enhance quality of life.
Monday’s session - at the Comox Golf Club - runs from 430pm to 6pm - and you do need to register ahead of time.
During Monday’s session, participants will float ideas, while Wednesday's session (from 1130am to 1pm) will prioritize actions discussed.
The new plan will guide efforts to support and grow existing businesses and attract workforce and investment.
To date, residents have highlighted a desire to leverage key economic infrastructure including the downtown, marina, airport, and employment lands, while exploring economic diversification opportunities.
The Strategy is scheduled for completion in spring 2024.
