Nearly two weeks into the strike at Canada Post, the Town of Comox is advising residents and businesses of anticipated disruptions.

Specifically, the Town is reminding residents that utility cheque payments already in the mail would be considered late come December 31st, if the strike isn’t settled in enough time to deal with the backlog.

The Town says for any outstanding utility balances as of December 31, daily interest will apply.

Payments can be made through online banking. If you need support, call the town at (250)-339-2202.

The strike by 55 thousand CUPW members began on November 15th.

Negotiations continue on a new contract.
