Traffic Notes For September 17, 2024

There will be a full road closure on Trask Road, at Merecroft Road, until Friday.

The closure is for upgrades to the roadway and to the Trask Road parking lot at in Campbell River's Beaver Lodge Forest Lands.

The parking lot and road entrance will also be closed to vehicles and pedestrians during this time; trails will be unaffected by the road closure and will remain accessible via the other entrances to Beaver Lodge Forest Lands.

Meanwhile, bridge replacement work is underway this week on the Valley View Trail near the crossing at Thorpe Avenue in Courtenay.

The trail will be closed until Thursday.

Trail users can expect to encounter machinery along the access route to the work zone from 7:30am until 4:00pm daily.

Trail users are asked to respect direction from workers and to stay out of the work zone. 

And there is a full road closure in place at the intersection of 5th Street with Woods and Stewart Avenue in Courtenay as work continues today from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Watch for signage posted at 5th Street and McPhee Avenue, as well as 10th Street and Willemar Avenue.
