You may be hearing sirens and seeing emergency vehicles in the Comox Valley today.

19 Wing Comox is conducting a large-scale multi-agency emergency training exercise (between 8am and 4pm) at 19 Wing Comox and the Seal Bay Training Area  (Waveland Rd and June Rd).

At the same time, the Comox Valley Emergency Management Service will train at Seal Bay Regional Nature Park and other non-DND sites in the vicinity under their own jurisdiction.

Members of the public can expect to see smoke at Seal Bay training area and emergency services present on the airfield.

Further, there will be people acting as casualties in the exercise crash sites and an evacuation exercise will be occurring.

Residents are reminded that these activities are routine military and emergency services training, and there is no need to report them to 19 Wing Comox or local emergency services.
