The Comox Valley Regional District is inviting Union Bay residents to attend an open house on the design and development of the new Union Bay Firehall.

The open house is on Thursday, November 28th, from 5pm to 7pm at the Union Bay Community Hall.

Staff will be on hand to provide details of the project design, including amenities, added benefits to the community, and construction timeline.

“The Union Bay Firehall project represents an important community need in providing essential life safety to residents and visitors in the Union Bay area,” explains Electoral Area A Director Daniel Arbour.

“The current building, built in 1956, is not only aging in terms of infrastructure, but also limits the ability for our firefighters to respond effectively. The larger hall, truck bays, and improved storage capabilities will greatly benefit the Union Bay community for years to come.”

If you cannot make the open house in person, visit Comox Valley RD to understand the current situation of the firehall and learn how the new design will affect the community.

This project will be part of the unified Alternative Approval Process occurring in January 2025 to determine funding and borrowing options.
