Water Rates are going up in the CVRDs Electoral Districts.
A significant portion of the water system is made up of infrastructure that is approaching the end of its service life and will require replacement in the coming years.
The CVRD says it has developed a replacement schedule and funding model which shows that increased water rates are required in order to ensure system reliability.
Impacted residents will be receiving letters in their mailboxes with detailed information and invitations to community information sessions happening this month where residents can learn more about infrastructure replacement needs, the current water rate increases and discuss the changes with CVRD staff and Electoral Area Directors.
