The world continues to react after the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump.

Trump was shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday as he again runs for the Whitehouse.

The 78 year old said on Sunday he was doing fine.

One person in the crowd was killed - another injured - and the shooter was killed by law enforcement.

Following the shooting, the gunman’s motive remains a mystery.

Investigators are saying they believe he acted alone before he was fatally shot by Secret Service agents.Prime Minister Juston Trudeau said on X on Saturday that it “cannot be overstated — political violence is never acceptable.”

He then spoke with Trump by telephone on Sunday.

The Prime Minister’s Office says Trudeau wished Trump well on his recovery, "condemned what he called an appalling assassination attempt and reiterated that there is no place for political violence.

Premier David Eby said he was deeply concerned as well.

“No matter your politics, the attempted assassination of a former president and presidential candidate is horrific. The people of British Columbia abhor political violence in all of its forms.”

On the heels of the assassination attempt, the 2024 Republican National Convention begins on Monday.
